More details

AppliDis Fusion 4 is a full solution for the virtualisation of user environments. It manages and virtualises all Windows applications and desktops within the company's data centre. AppliDis Fusion 4 offers you all the vital functions to fully manage your user environments and significantly increase the quality of service.

Deliver applications and desktops as a service

AppliDis Fusion 4 can deliver applications and desktops as a service.  Applications and virtual desktops are managed and deployed through a web-based console.

Based on the RDP protocol within Windows RDS (formerly Windows TS) and compatible with the main hypervisors on the market (Hyper-V, ESX, ESXi, Virtualcenter), AppliDis Fusion 4 has the ability to virtualise all your applications or your desktops. The virtualised desktops can operate under Windows XP, Vista, Seven (VDI technology) through AppliDis Connexion Broker or maybe a Windows RDS/Terminal Server (Windows 2000 to Windows 2008 R2) desktop.

At user level, access can be gained both from an Internet browser or an AppliDis Desktop client, which automatically integrates the icons published on the desktop or the start menu or on a distributed desktop on your thin client.

Give users Web 2.0 experience

With AppliDis Fusion 4, the user experience in a virtualised environment is an enriched, interactive one. Multimedia components such as video flows, flash animations or directX are intrinsically taken into account. The external peripherals are automatically recognised as soon as they are plugged in and connected to the user desktop.

Select the applications using AppliDis MyAppsTM

Due to the new AppliDis MyAppsTM functionality included in AppliDis Fusion 4, users have the opportunity to choose the applications they want and think they wish to use from a catalogue of virtualised applications. Access to these applications is then authorised or declined by the IT administrator.

Integrating Web 2.0 tools such as notation, comment or feedback of information, the AppliDis MyAppsTM catalogue is a genuine communication channel between users and IT employees.

Simplify day-to-day administration

AppliDis Fusion 4 makes it quick and easy to manage and operate virtual environments on a day-to-day basis.

AppliDis Fusion

A single user-friendly management console in web format handles all the functions available in AppliDis Fusion 4: managing servers, applications, publication contracts, access rights as well as creating and managing virtual machines.

No need to worry about using AppliDis Toolbox
AppliDis Fusion 4 provides administrators with a real technical toolbox. AppliDis ToolBox delivers a number of system tools such as tools for virtualising registry keys (for each application), for virtualising files, for virtualising hostnames, etc. All these tools are listed and detailed within the AppliDis administrative console.

As the global solution for virtualising applications and desktops, AppliDis Fusion 4 allows you to extend the flexibility and quality of service for your IT infrastructure at a lower and better managed cost of ownership.

Thanks to AppliDis Fusion 4, you can deliver all your applications to users on demand regardless of their location or method of connection (office network, WiFi, 3G, home network).

AppliDis Fusion 4 is a quick and easy way to virtualise environments. IT administrators can at last focus on user requirements and implement the application access policies best-suited to their needs.

Designed to satisfy the requirements of companies of all sizes (small SMEs to large infrastructures with several thousand desktops), AppliDis Fusion 4 includes more than 60 new functions and is now the top alternative solution for the virtualisation of your user environments.

Improved quality of service

With its intelligent load-balancing functions, AppliDis Fusion 4 can provide ideal optimisation of the server resources required, hosting virtualisation services (SBC and VDI).

Dynamic (as opposed to static) management of server and application resources therefore makes it possible to meet the ever-increasing service quality requirements for users.

- Desktop and applications available immediately
- Access to user environment from any desktop (company desktop PC, laptop, thin client, smartphone, personal desktop PC etc)
- Secure access to the user environment regardless of the location (home, office, public place) or method of connection (Ethernet network, WiFi, 3G etc).

Secure data and information flow

By centralising application resources and desktops at the data centre, AppliDis Fusion 4 plays a part in providing secure access to and use of the company's data. After all, it is much simpler to control access to data when it is collected in one single location than when it is distributed around all of the company's sites.

Applications and desktops can be accessed through the Microsoft RDP protocol (native to all Microsoft operating systems). In this way, it is easy for the administrator to use the AppliDis administration console to allow or restrict the movement of data files across the network and/or the use of printing.

AppliDis Fusion 4 can also encapsulate the information in http or https mode. This provides total autonomy for mobile users whilst maximising the level of security.

Strengthens the high degree of infrastructure availability

With its native redundancy systems and high degree of availability, AppliDis Fusion 4 can eliminate the risks of downtime in the event of scheduled or unscheduled interruptions to the service.

With AppliDis Fusion 4, each service (administration, applications, Web portal, gateway etc) is duplicated. This redundancy makes it very easy to implement a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) or Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
This is because it becomes simple to share the components of a redundant architecture between several data centres and ensure very high availability for all company departments, even in the event that one of the production data centres goes offline.

AppliDis Fusion 4 also employs standard technologies such as http, RDP or IP redirection protocols. These market-compliant standards make it easy to support a DRP/BCP because the existing mechanisms and hardware can be reused.

Reduces infrastructure costs

By moving the desktop applications to the servers, AppliDis Fusion 4 provides a proven return on investment in comparison with an architecture which uses so-called standard desktops which hold the data and application locally.

  • Lower cost of ownership: reduces the complexity of your infrastructure, optimises your productivity and more efficiently manages the costs of the software licenses.
  • Lower maintenance costs: the virtualisation of applications reduces hardware and software maintenance costs allowing your IT staff to focus on other tasks.
  • Lower operating costs: by optimising the use of your servers, you can have more user accounts on your servers. The network also operates better; for most applications, bandwidth is considerably lower - RDP optimises the application display and transmits only keystrokes and mouse clicks.

Virtualises all applications

As an application virtualisation tool, AppliDis Fusion 4 is able to support all desktop applications. The combination of virtualised applications and virtualisation of desktops within a single solution actually allows you to get the best service from each technology.

Application transparency is ensured for both technologies, providing support for all types of applications, regardless of their connectivity, graphics cards and desktop OS requirements. The user can be confident that there will not be any (visual, ergonomic or functional) difference between the use of their normal application on their local desktops and the same application via AppliDis Fusion 4.

Virtualisation of desktops

AppliDis Fusion 4 is a desktop virtualisation solution that can manage the principal hypervisors on the market such as ESX, Hyper-V. It therefore fully manages virtual and physical machines such as blade PCs or desktop PCs with onboard graphics cards.

As the desktop operates in the data center, the AppliDis Fusion 4 broker connection manages the creation of its resources, their integration into the directory and their availability as well as user access and connection. The display on the Windows desktop and its applications is sent through the optimised RDP network protocol.

Intelligent load balancing

Thanks to its intelligent load balancing, AppliDis Fusion 4 allows the best possible distribution of the workload and the required number of servers in order to deploy your virtual architecture. You can therefore increase the information system’s performance and be sure that everyone always has a service.

Innovative technology for detecting usage
AppliDis Fusion’s intelligent load balancing is based on an innovative usage detection technology which gradually learns how the information system behaves and is used. For example, when implementing virtual desktops AppliDis Fusion allows you to anticipate the start-up of virtual machines based on user needs and demands.

This dynamic – rather than static - form of management optimises the server resources, reduces energy consumption and therefore optimises the TCO by desktop.

The usage detection technology within AppliDis Fusion 4 monitors four criteria in order to ensure the best user connections distribution on the market:

  • the static characteristics of the server (power of the process, RAM volume etc )
  • the dynamic characteristics of the server (consumption of the process and RAM)
  • the behaviour of the network sessions (number, location)
  • user behaviour and connection habits.

Integrated universal printing module

AppliDis Fusion 4 has advanced universal printing capabilities. Local or remote connection, centralised or virtualised architecture, AppliDis Fusion 4 provides all of your staff with a simple and efficient print service

Virtualisation of printers
As a result of its printer pilot virtualisation capability, AppliDis Fusion 4 provides a universal driver which supports all types of printers:
a. B&W, colour ink-jet or laser printers
b. PCL3, PCL4, PCL6 and PostScript printers
c. printer with paper tray management

Integrated management of application blacklist

In order to secure the Windows desktops at the data center, AppliDis Fusion 4 has simple and powerful solutions such as:

  • A secure desktop allowing the administrator to manage the display of the options available from the Windows desktop and the start menu for the user
  • Simple management of an applications blacklist which allows the administrator to restrict the execution of programs defined by user group.
  • The rapid and straightforward creation of a blacklist of file extensions by user group to prevent access to these types of files in order to have more control over data access.
