London, UK – January 18, 2010 – Systancia, a provider of desktop and application virtualisation solutions, has received endorsement from leading industry analysts at the Ovum Butler Group for its newly released AppliDis Fusion 4 application and desktop virtualisation solution. The Technology Audit report from Ovum Butler praises a number of unique aspects of the software and concludes that the AppliDis solution should be considered by enterprises – particularly those based in Europe – who are looking to ease the burden of managing their virtualised desktop and application ecosystem.
The Technology Audit follows the release of AppliDis version 4 last month, which incorporates both desktop virtualisation and application virtualisation into a single easy-to-manage console that supports VMware and Microsoft Hypervisors. The report, conducted by Ovum Butler analysts Balachandar Ganesh and Alan Rodger, praises two features in particular: the software’s ‘Intelligent Load Balancing’ feature, which learns how applications are consumed over time and balances resource requirement accordingly, to enable support for more concurrent users; as well as the AppliDis print service that acts as a universal printer, removing the need to install print drivers on all Terminal Servers or virtual desktops to overcome the bandwidth network congestion typically associated with downloading print files between application servers and local printers.
The report concludes by saying that “Systancia brings to market what Ovum Butler Group believes is a good product set capable of delivering against most enterprise business requirement,” and adds, “AppliDis is armed with a strong feature set that should enable a tangible return on investment around centralising and virtualising an organisation’s application and desktop infrastructures.”
Christophe Corne, founder and chairman of Systancia acknowledges the value of such an endorsement from a leading analyst house and comments, “Receiving such impartial acknowledgment of the strength of our technology is a huge bonus in our mission to position Systancia as an attractive alternative to industry giants VMware and Citrix. It marks an important milestone for the company in our quest to differentiate our offering based on our innovative technology and underscores our ability to offer enterprise and government organisations a powerful solution that helps minimise the burden of managing distributed users.”
