Virtual access (VDI)

Virtualization in short

With virtualization, the objective is to install all or part of business or office applications – or even complete operating systems – on dedicated servers. Standard desktops or servers can be streamlined and simplified, which increases flexibility while resulting in a more unrestricted use of hardware resources.
Virtualization is performed in three areas :

Server virtualization

Server virtualization involves creating multiple server images on a single server in order to pool unused resources.

Application virtualization

Application virtualization aims to enable users to remotely access applications installed on a server from any device

Windows Desktop virtualization

Windows desktop virtualization enables the installation of complete desktop operating systems on ‘virtual computers’ running on server infrastructure.

Application virtualization or application publishing

Application virtualization – or application publishing – allows for applications to be made available as a service while eliminating the technical constraints of deployment. All user data and applications are hosted in a secure datacenter for increased data security and availability. Users can access their applications from anywhere, at any time using any device, while benefiting from improved service quality.
Server-based computing (SBC) is the principle on which Systancia Workplace, Systancia’s VDI solution is based, and aims to centralize the IT system’s client application components in order to optimize their management and reduce reliance on the usage environment.

Desktop virtualization or VDI

Desktop virtualization – or virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) – enables the desktop operating system to be virtualized in its entirety, and is based on the same principle as server virtualization.
The various virtual are hosted in a secure datacenter for increased data security and availability. With users using their desktop via remote access and display forwarding, it as though they are on their actual desktop itself.

Why virtualize?

Discover five good reasons for making the move to virtualization:

Optimize your architecture

Dynamic management of server and application resources to meet user demand for quality services.

Reduce your costs

Reduce maintenance costs as well as the total operating and ownership costs.

Improve the productivity of your organization

Quick and easy access to applications, with very high availability and redundancy systems eliminating service interruption risks

Reduce your environmental impact

Using thin clients that are easier to configure, more economical and less energy intensive, and therefore reducing your environmental impact

Increase data security

Centralizing applications in a datacenter leads to secure data access and use, while simplifying the implementation of a disaster recovery plan

Application or windows desktop virtualization?

With its Systancia Workplace solution, Systancia is taking a different approach to the market, with Systancia Workplace enabling the management of both application and windows desktop virtualization on just a single console.
